It should be noted that students from the ST category are exempted from tuition fees in NIT's and it's. However other charges like security deposit, development fee, etc are all applicable .
Below is the fee structure of NIT Hamirpur. It is just a sample to give you an idea of the fee structure and other charges. However, it varies from one NIT to another.
Tuition Fee : NIL
Examination Fee :500.-
Internet Charges ; 1500.-
Training and placement fee : 150/-
Medical Fee : 150/-
Development Fee :4000/-
Including other charges.
Hence a total of anywhere between 10-12k is to be paid by the candidate. Please be mindful that it will slightly vary from one NIT to another.
