Well a large number of Doctors in India are self employed hence sky is the limit…however to answer your question about doctors you are doing a job here is the answer

1. A MBBS doctor makes about 40 k per month in Government and around 50k a month in private setup

2. A MD …well it depends on the branch and experience. A MD Medicine makes around 70 k in a government setup and 80 k per month or more in private

That’s a very vague question. It can range from 30,000 per month for a doctor who has just finished his MBBS to as high as 2-3 lakh per day for highly accomplished super specialist.

An ex-professor of AIIMS had been offered around 12 crore per annum from a big corporate hospital. That’s almost 3 lakh per day !

So the salary of a doctor depends on his degree of specialization and the years of experience which he or she has.

Post MBBS- Rs. 10,000 to 40,000/month (5.5 years of training)
Post MD/MS – Rs. 30,000 to 2,00,000/ month ( 9-12years of training)
Post DM/Mch/Fellowship – Rs. 50,000 to 3,00,000/month. (12-15 years of training)

Some doctors don’t get paid at all when they are training in a hospital imparting training. The hospitals trade free labour for imparting training to doctors.

Some of my doctor friends who are working in primary health centers in villages get paid once in 6 months and no one including the government could be bothered about it.
