If someone lives in delhi then it has delhi as it's state quota so then he has priority of getting admission in delhi (85% quota).
While it has 15% chances of getting admission in another states.
So if someone lives in delhi why he or she left delhi for its education, so state quota give them advantage to study in his or her state.
Why other people lives in other states have chances to get admission in delhi easily.
There is huge difference in cut off between both the quota.
It totally affects admission in govt. College
There's a lot of difference in the marks required to get admission through the State quota and the All India quota.
If you take admission in the state quota then a total of 85% seats in all the government colleges in that particular state will be reserved for admission of the students who have that state's domicile only. And rest 15% seats will be from people All over India. So naturally the marks required for you to take admission in your own state will be lower than the marks required for you to take admission in rest of the states in India. Now the cut off for state and All India quota differs a LOT in each state. You can let me know your state for a more accurate estimate. In some states you might require lower marks like 510+ or 520 plus for admission under state quota and in some even 490 plus. But under All India quota you might require 560+ marks. Hence it differs a lot depending on the state.
