See with the name itself they can be think as common but then also they have major differences like

• The Campus of Bits Pilani is vast as comparison with the premises of Bits Mesra .
• The admission in BITS Mesra is through JEE mains via in Pilani there will be an separate entrance exam which is called as BITSAT .
• BITS Pilani has smooth adminstration while BITS Mesra has a very tight boundation in admission.
• The placement point of view both are same only but if we compare about the packages in both of these then I must say BITS Pilani will have higher packages.
• The major differences between both these institutions is in BITS Mesra since admission are on JEE mains rank basis so that there will be an effect of category wise as well but in BITS Pilani almost all of the students are IIT-JEE crackers so in this campus more sharp minds are being taughted.

So overall both the institution are good it depends upon your own choice in which you wish to pursue your UG / PG degree.
