There is no particular mark for someone to get into IITs. It varies year to year depending on the performance of students.
You have to be in the top 11k students out of 2.25 lakh students who appear in JEE advanced
As you have mentioned the general category, you must have to get a good rank
Moreover, it also depends upon the branch and IIT which you want
For example, if you want IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, you must have to be in the top 1 thousand of the list
But in case of New IITs, you can get admission at a much lower rank
You can have a look at the marks vs rank of last year to have a comparative idea for your query, but its not necessary that it will repeat the same trend
Actual results may vary
Hope it helps
Best of luck!
Hi dear,
It is quite difficult to predict exact marks because full marks of jee advance vary every year. The difficulty level of paper also decide the cutoff of IITs. If you belong from general category try to score more than 50 percent of full marks if paper is moderate. If you belong for category then you should score 40 percent of full marks.
Hope it helps.
