If placements is considered I'd say its one of the best in the northern region in terms of Chemical Engineering.
And it is almost 60 years old has established into good value for money.
Big firms like EIL (Engineers India Limited), Reliance Industries Ltd., ExxonMobil, Fluor, Bechtel, UOP Honeywell, Technip, HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd., Jubilant, Vedanta Group, IOL-CP, etc visit the campus.
This year international companies like Moubt Meru have also started coming.
The placements have also increased since last year with 95% students being placed this year compared to last year.
And as an expected majority of them got placed in the core sector.
The avg package for this year was around ₹6.34 lac per annum up from ₹5.87 lac per annum last year.
I have my friends in IIT, NIT and trust me the average package is quite high as compared to the majority of the NITs having chemical engineering. There is various reason for it like it is one of the oldest colleges in the Northern region and its alumni base which is quite strong. For a college whose annual fees is just ₹20k a placement like this is just a bonus along with it being a govt. college. There have been cases where students leave NITs and Thapar University to join this college
