MBBS students do pursue their overseas but they are limited in nature. Generally, the students try to go through AIPGMEE which is not so easy and private ones are extremely expensive in nature. So many students look for options abroad, which also offers them job security. The 2 most popular programs among them are the one with USA and one with Germany.

1. PG in USA: Here naturally you need to get through USMLE-1 and USMLE-2CK in India before going to USA for USMLE-2CS. You will get the support from the doctors to get the LOR, externship in USA from top hospitals such as John Hopkins. Also support is provided to you to be placed in MPH programs in government universities costing very low wherein you can spend time of 1st semester at Kaplan classroom training for USMLE exams. The residency is what one looks at and it has been proven to be a good route to get for many doctors at a much lesser costs compared to PG in Indian private medical colleges.

2. Medical PG in Germany : This has become a popular program for many students having even lower budget which is about Rs. 15-20 Lacs. The program involves your CV to be rotated through a set of 150 public hospitals for an observer ship in Germany. It takes around 6-12 months to get a confirmation. This is a conditional letter of observer ship which India organizes wherein you would have to learn German language up to C1 level. Accordingly, the doctors are trained for A1 & A2 level in India while B1 - B2 - C1 level in Germany (Takes 1 year) at one of the top most and government approved German language school. On completion of your observer-ship you are absorbed in the same hospital or they provide support for your employment in another hospital as an assistant. The stipend paid residency spent in these hospital for minimum of 4 years takes you through German medical board approved MD / MS in your specializations. LOR from the doctor will be very important in this case.
