When admission will start for b.tech aeronautical engineering in mvj engineering college of bangalore ? Process for it?Ans fast?
Hello Ajinkya,
MVJ college of engineering is a private engineering college affiliated to Visvesvarya Technological University, Bangalore. It is also one of the few colleges in Karnataka that offers Aeronautical engineering, hence is one of the popular choices.
There are two ways to apply for the admission:
- Through counseling based on the final score calculated on the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) rank/Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) rank/ COMEDK UGET rank.
To know about the above exams, refer to my other answer to the same question. But generally getting a higher rank than 10,000 (i.e. less than 10,000) will get you admission in this college.
- 10+2 PCM marks.
However, like many colleges, MVJ also conducts its own examination accordingly to which admission is provided to the students.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 60% in both 10th and 12th exams from recognized boards.
- Candidate must have completed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Electronics/ Computer Science as optional subjects.
- Must have also English as one of the languages of study.
MVJEE:
- It is an online test.
- The exam comprises a set of questions from mathematics, physics, chemistry, and english; the total marks of the exam is 40 marks.
- The cost of EE application is free of cost for all.
This exam will only test the basics you studied in 10th, and some questions will be based on what you studied in 12th.
Important points to note:
- If the person has good merit, like 80%+, then this entrance is just a formality and he/she will definitely secure a seat. Otherwise, just make sure you have 60%+, manage 20 marks in exam, and you are all set to enroll.
- Management seats are provided should you register for the admission by paying Rs. 50,000 in advance, and once your board results are out, you can carry out with rest of the procedures. This early transaction is redeemable.
Course Fees:
The following fee details is for the aeronautical engineering course:
- First year: 3.88L, including miscellaneous charges for extracurricular activities.
- Second through the fourth year: 2.26L, no additional charges
( Basically all extra charges that are accounted for the four years will be paid the first year only, and otherwise, the fee per year is 2.26LPA. )
Admission will go on until the end of April, or even May, depending on the availability of the seats.
I hope this helps.
P.S. I'm sorry for the confusion. According to various sources found on the net, the course fees is 7.56L. But I have it rectified here.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Minimum 45% aggregate in 12th, 40% for SC/STs.
- Must have also English as one of the languages of study.
- Candidates who have passed from Karnataka State Open University are not eligible to apply.
Admission
- Through counseling based on the final score calculated on the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) rank/Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) rank/ COMEDK UGET rank.
- 10+2 PCM marks.
Now, about the KCET examination details:
KCET is a state level entrance exam that offers admission to various government and private colleges to various disciplines including Engineering, Pharmacy and Ayush courses in Karnataka.
- Feb 1 - Mar 20, 2019: KCET Application form 2019
- April 16, 2019: KCET admit card
- April 29, 2019: Exam 1, Biology and Mathematics
- April 30, 2019: Exam 2, Physics and Chemistry
It's a pen and paper based exam, and total time duration for each exam is 80 minutes.
KCET rank is calculated on the basics of his/her performance in exam and 12th board exam.
Formula:
Rank= {(12th score+KCET score)/200}*100
So, you've got less time to apply for the exam. Make it fast. However, in case you're not from Karnataka, I.e you belong to other state, then you are not eligible to appear in this exam because KCET is held for Karnataka candidates only.
In such a case, where you are not eligible for KCET, you can always appear for COMEDK which is similar to KCET in terms of exam pattern and syllabus but only difference is that it is open to all eligible candidates in India.
About COMEDK exam:
COMEDK UG Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) is a state level entrance exam which acts as a gateway for admissions to engineering and architecture courses offered by more than 190 colleges that accept COMEDK scores.
Every year, more than 70k candidates appear for this exam. It is a computer based test, and the time duration of the year is 3 hours.
- Last date to submit COMEDK application form: April 19, 2019
- Availability of admit card: May 3, 2019
- COMEDK exam: May 12, 2019
- Result: May 27, 2019
About JEE entrance exam:
Joint Entrance Exam, JEE, Main is conducted to offer admissions to eligible candidates in UG engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, IITs, and other CFTIs across the country. Only the top 2.24L score holders in JEE Main exam are eligible for screening exam, I.e. JEE Advanced which is the gateway to the premier institutions of the country.
The recent changes made by NTA has chanced the exam frequency to twice a year. The exam can be appeared for in both online and offline mode, and time duration of the exam is 3 hours.
Unfortunately, the last of application submission is exceeded, so unless you've already applied for the exam, you are not allowed to appear for the exam this April.
Anyhow:
- Admit card availability: March 20, 2019
- JEE Main exam: April 7 to April 20, 2019
- Rank declaration: TBA
This concludes the ways you can apply for admission in MVJ for Aeronautical Engineering.

My opinion:
Avoid joining this college if you can help it. Unless you don't have much of a choice and didn't make it to top colleges, only then you should get yourself enrolled in MVJ. It has reasonable education, but has lack of extracurricular activities and the management is annoying in more ways than one.
Not that MVJ is awful choice, but in this period, this college is not up to the mark when compared to other choices that you have. Keep it as your last option.
Check out the following two colleges:
- Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering
Fees: 2.38L
- Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology
Fees: 2.41L
On side note, there are much more colleges, including IITs, which offers aerospace engineering as compared to aeronautical engineering so you might feel interested looking up those colleges.
I hope this helps.
When the round of college stating for admission?
