Kannur University - Admission for B.A LL.B and LL.M (Criminal Law and Criminal Justice)
Eligibility for B.A LL.B:
In order to get admission to the course, the student shall pass the senior secondary school (+2) course or equivalent with not less than sixty percent of marks in science groups and fifty five percent of marks in other groups, provided, the course shall be recognized by the Kannur University.
Provided further that applicants who have obtained + 2 Higher Secondary pass Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the Integrated Five Years course. However, the applicants who have obtained qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission.
Age:
The maximum age for admission to the course is below twenty years as on 1st June of every academic year.
Admission Process:
The manner of admission shall be on the basis of entrance test conducted by the University or by the School as the case may be and a rank list will be published on the basis of the average marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance examination and the marks he/she obtained in the +2 course.
An admission committee shall be constituted for admission and the candidates shall be interviewed by the committee before granting admission. The reservation rules shall be followed before finalizing the admission and for that the rules provided by the University shall be followed.
Eligibility for LL.M:
A candidate who has passed the LL.B. examination of Kannur University or any other University recognized as equivalent and has secured not less than 50% of marks in aggregate are eligible.
Admission Process:
Admission to the programme is on the basis of an entrance test and interview conducted by the Department or University. The maximum marks allotted to the entrance test and interview is 75 and 25. The ranking of the candidate for the purpose of admission shall be made on the basis of the total marks he/she secures on adding the marks obtained in the entrance test and interview. The reservation rules of the University are applicable.
