Vinayaka mission was established in 1981 as Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. In 2001 the institution gained the recognition to be a deemed university from the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
