For example,
If your year of appearing for 12th board examination is 2022, then you are
eligible for jee main 2022
eligible for jee main 2023 and
eligible for jee main 2024

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-
------) Qualification required :- to be eligible for JEE mains for BE or Btech you need 10+2/equivalent qualification with Physics, mathematics as compulsory subject along with anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.
------) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of passing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible for JEE mains 2021 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019
------) There is no age limit to be eligible
------) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main.
But yes,
To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category. For this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % has been lifted off.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria and mention it in the official notification. Students should have passed the 12th class or qualifying the exam in 2020 or 2021 or Candidates appearing in 12th class exams in 2022 are also eligible. Students can appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years. The entrance test will be conducted four times a year. For B.Tech courses candidate should have passed the qualifying exam with Physics, Mathematics, and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject. So if you clear all the above mentioned points you will be eligible to give the JEE mains exam.
