Read Newspaper everyday
15 mins of Novel reading in any field you like
6-7 hours of self study
2 hrs for Quantitative aptitude
1 hr for DI/ Lr
1 hr for Reading comprehensions
Improve your vocab and reading speed till the cat exam
Take the test series of IMS and study material of TIME
I gave CAT 2018 and would write about that. It is a mangament exam for entrance to various reputed MBA colleges of India. It has 3 sections- Verbal ability and reading comprehension(VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning(DILR) and Quantitative aptitude(QA).
I have been a keen and voracious reader and hence can say that VARC is my forte. I have read so many books and articles that i can comfortably read passages and answer questions within very less time. However to be on the safe side, for this section, I started reading newspapers and editorials to get a knack about various and vibrant topics. Infact the only strategy required here is to read and read and read. As much as you can and wherever you can and whatever you can. Read and make a habit of trying to study what the author is trying to convey under a set time.
Coming to DILR, it is the toughest and the most unpredictable of all sections. It can ve seen by how very less marks in this sections fetch great percentiles. The strategy I followed was to solve Arun sharma's book, solve as many mind puzzles like sudoku and chess and give as many mocks that I can with analysing them thoroughly. This doesnt have a set syllabus so the more you are good at understanding puzzles tge better your chances.
QA is the forte of engineering students but for others its a tough nut to crack. Clearing the basics and then devoting 2 to 3 hours everyday for solving questions is a very good approach. Books that I used were Arun Sharma and a coaching's material. Practice, practice and practice is the key here.
Last but not the least, mocks should be given on a regular basis under a time frame and analysed very deeply with doing same mock atleast thrice is the strategy that i would suggest and have myself done.
It would be conducted in November and the registration process starts from August ,so be sure to fill it.
All the best. Hope it helps.
