EWS certificate is a type of authentication for the candidates belonging to general category having Annual family income less than 8 LPA. So, if you are a general category candidate and have Inco.e less than 8 LPA then you can get yourself an EWS certificate.

You will always be treated as a general category candidate but exception is that you will come under EWS reservation under general category.

Now, if you are getting a college based on your general category rank, then you will have to choose it. But, if you get admission into a college through EWS reservation certificate then it's more than good. Because, fir EWS reservation candidates, the cutoff and rank is not soo higher than that of general category candidates.

So, if you come under EWS reservation, then you must get the certificate for  yourself and register and fill the form as an EWS reservation candidate and then you will get a college according to your EWS rank as prepared by the authorities .
