The application process for the Eklavya Model Residential Schools ( EMRS ) usually involves an entrance test known as the EMRS Selection Test ( EMRSST ) which is  conducted annually .

For the 2024-25 academic year , the application window and exam dates are determined by each state’s EMRS society , with some deadlines already set around July and August 2024 .

Applications are submitted through the EMRS online portal or offline at District Welfare Offices and eligibility is limited to students from Scheduled Tribes and other reserved categories .
