yes..it is possible to research in astrophysics by clearing UGC  NET JRF......because JRF'S get scholarship by UGC for pursuing research degrees .....

Indian institute of astrophysics(IIA) has a ph.D programme ..in this students are selected through a entrance exam and interview.This exam will be conducted every year in the month of november and the information about this exam will be advertised in the month of september....

OR

Students can selected through joint entrance screening test conducted every year in the month of february followed by an interview and the advertise about this exam will be apper in all leading news papers

based on the performance of the student in the exam the candidates are selected

the universities that offer astrophysics are punjabi university,osmania university,aligarh muslim university,madurai kamaraj university,mahatma gandhi univesity,swami ramanand teerth university....

students who are aiming for astrophysics reserch ...they should have good knowledhe on physics and maths and some technical subjects.......
