Hey!

nit professors do phd in either indian institute if technology. or the NIT itself. but it is not always necessary. you can do phd from normal universities like anna university or something else and become an IIT professor/assistant professor. so it is not about which university, but all you need is sufficient knowledge in your subject.

but generally they are from IITs or NITs
