No, girls from different state can also apply for Assam Woman University. But it is only for girls. It offers post graduate, under graduate and diploma courses. But it has several reservation for lower castes and for tribes.

Assam Women’s University was inaugurated in the year 2013 and is a state university of Assam recognized by UGC. Assam women's university offers BA and BPT of three-year duration at UG level. At PG level, the University offers MA program with 8 specializations, M.Sc. in Fashion Design and Technology, MCA, MBA, MTTM and MLIS courses. Aspirants of all stream must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for admissions. One of the eligibility criteria is that he/she must be a permanent resident of assam. Hence, residency of any other north east state wont allow you to apply.
