COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST(CLAT),it is a national level governmental entrance test for admission to 22 national law Universities in india and most of private colleges and government affiliated colleges also uses CLAT scores for admission.

CLAT is the entrance examination for admission to NLUs and more than 1000 participating Institutions. But for Government Law College, Coimbatore is affiliated to Dr. Ambedkar Law University. They offer 5 year BA LLB and 3 years LLB Degree course. For being eligible for the Integrated law course, Candidates should have passed their 12th in 10+2 pattern with a minimum aggregate of 45%. It is 45% for General Category and 40% for SC/ST. For 3 years LLB Course, Candidates should have completed a year Bachelor's degree in any discipline in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 format. CLAT is necessary to join any law college. But many colleges take AILET and LSAT results for admission. Also state universities take their own entrance tests for admission. Some private just consider your results for admission but they have their own criteria and also the fee range for such students is high.
