Hi there!
Your question appears controversial, but I'll give it my best try.
Here is the crux of the matter. First, understand where your interest lies in. Medicine and engineering(sadly, the only preferred streams in India!) are miles apart. Altogether, they are different platforms. So, be careful as regards to any decision.
Secondly, the government spends a chunk of education budget on IITs, NITs and medical colleges. And, in no way IITs are worse than any medicalo colleges. Some of India's most beautiful campuses are of IITs. You have top rated professors, awesome intern and job opportunities, and cool facilities. Similar scenario is in most medical colleges.
Furthermore, engineering opens up a wide range of subjects where you could pursue your career, medicine is mostly restricted to being a practising physician(unless ofcourse, you pursue research)..
Concluding, the main stuff that matters is your interest. Choose what you like, both are equally good.
Thanks and regards!
