Hi sunil,

Starting the preparation from scratch in the age of 20 for banking is not late at all. It is just a fear or a doubt in yourmind that is not making you to move forward. You can start your preparation from scratch and crack the banking exam easily.

Even if you are weak in general aptitude and English you can pass the exam by preparing sincerely with sufficient efforts. Though it seems that syllabus of english and general aptitude is vast but it is not that much difficult that you can not cover the topics in one year of regular studies.

You just need to set your goal. Fix you time table or study plan. Decide from which chapter you want to start your preparation and start preparing. Unless and until you will not try you will not know your abilities. So just start preparatin without thinking any negative point about yourself.

If you find difficulties in understanding some topics you can take help from the expert or teachers in that subject.

Hope it helps.

All the best.

Hello,

The minimum age to appear for clerkexams is 21 years age, so it's not at all too late, if you're determined to make a career in banking, then start your preparation with right attitude and mindset. every aspirant is a beginner and we all learn and there's always scope for improvements, have faith in yourself and your abilities.

For English the first thing you can do is to have a good command over grammar for which you can use Wren and Martin book, get your concepts clear like Subject-Verb Agreement,Tenses, Prepositions, Idioms and Phrases, Adverb,Adjectives etc Once you build your foundation you'll find it easy to solve error detection, sentence rearrangement, words swap etc, you can use Word Power Made Easy to improve your vocabulary.

Now,coming to one of the most important part, do read The Hindu on a regular basis especially the editorial part and this is something which you shouldn't neglect at any cost, the reason I'm putting so much emphasis is because according to previous year trends, Reading Comprehensions and other sections have come directly from The Hindu,so reading this newspaper on daily basis will increase your vocabulary, knowledge, the speed of reading as well as help you in quickly answering the questions.

Getting a good grasp over General Awareness is not a huge task as such, it's just that you need to be updated with latest happening in every sphere of life whether it's business, economics, techonlogy etc. You should follow the same procedure of reading newspaper for this section as well,The Hindu or The Indian Express are best options, for banking and business part, you can read The Economic Times, just continue doing this on a regular basis, you'll see that you're improving and it'll also boost up your self-confidence.
