Dear aspirant,

According to your query,

You should know that both branches have a great scope nowadays with good placement opportunities.  But at the same time if you need to opt for one then computer science is obviously a better option in terms of scope and placement opportunities in both govt and private sector.

Hope you find it useful.

Thank you.

Both are almost equal as compared to job opportunities, but computer engineering is in demand right now . If you want to study about machines then mechanical engineering is your field of study or else if you want to study about software and hardware of computers then computer engineering is your field of study . Both have a very good career scope in India .

Hello Aspirant,

CSE: The computer science engineer can get jobs opportunities more. As the companies are choosing the candidates with more technical skills and the technology being increased more the opportunities for the CSE students will be high. The company needs the employees to be fast learners, catch up with the trending technologies, attentive, adaptable etc.

Mech: Mechanical engineering also gets a good placement number. There will less number of opportunities compared to other branches. As we see some cases like Mechanical engineers learn coding and come to software side jobs.

At the end of the day the Computer engineers will be having more chances or opportunities.

Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

If you want to work in private sector then CSE branch is the best branch. But if you are interested in government sector then you should go for mechanical engineering. ME have good scope in government sector. You can get government job through GATE in ME.

CSE :

Booming IT sector in India has plenty of jobs for fresh computer science graduates. Candidates from top notch engineering colleges however get attractive job offers from MNC IT companies in comparison to not so known engineering colleges. Additionally, candidates with high percentage of mark and good communication skills as well as sound computer knowledge do not face problem in getting a job whether they are from a reputed engineering college or not. Computer engineers can get jobs in non-IT companies like universities, research, private and public industries, government departments, business organisations, commercial organisations and the manufacturing sector, etc.

Besides the Computer Engineers have plenty of options to work in IT companies in departments such as design, development, assembly, manufacture and maintenance, etc. Working as programmer, web developer, and E- commerce specialist with telecommunications companies, automotive companies, aerospace companies, etc. can be a lucrative career option as well.
