All MBA aspirants ask this question at some point of time. They can be faulted only to a certain extent as there is no other way they can repay the educational loan they took at a steep rate of interest. Moreover, barring the top MBA colleges, less than 10 percent of graduates passing out of MBA colleges are employable and if they find placement, the salaries are not that great. So, it is important that you know the final placements at an MBA college before choosing one.
Nowadays MBA colleges submit their placement data to the regulatory agencies like the AICTE and UGC and if they want to be ranked, they submit it to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the central education ministry or to credible private agencies like Careers360.
But you need to know how to understand the placement statistics. For this you need to know two important factors, the average or median salary and the percentage of class placed.
By looking at the average or median salary you can easily understand the quality of placements. In the first place, you must avoid falling into the trap of the highest package paraded by the MBA college. It can be an offer made to an exceptionally good candidate or an international offer converted in Indian currency. The median salary on the other hand factors in all the placements and the salary offered across the class.
The percentage of class placed is the other yardstick to understand the quality of placements. If you know the actual number of students placed and the percentage of students placed, you will get a better picture of what an MBA college may like to show.
But you must also understand that a few students may not take placements in order to join family businesses or become entrepreneurs.
You can also look at the ranking of MBA colleges to understand how good they are in placements because all rankings give a lot of weightage to placement statistics. So, higher the ranking better will be the placement too.
Two of the reputed agencies that do MBA college ranking are the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) by the central education ministry or Careers360.
Based on these rankings, and ratings here is a list of top MBA colleges in Visakhapatnam.

Aided by its brand value, IIM Visakhapatnam comes on top with its excellent placement record. In the final placements for the 2018-20 batch, only one student out of the class strength of 100 opted out. This shows 100 percent and the median salary was Rs. 12 lakh.
With A+ accreditation by NAAC, and AAA+ rating by Careers360, GITAM Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam is a good option. According to its website, in 2019-20 it had an average package of Rs. 5.5 Lakh.
As the number of MBA colleges in Visakhapatnam is limited, you should also look at the Vijayawada region which has good MBA colleges like IFMR Graduate School of Business, Sri City, ranked 3 by the NIRF and Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation, Guntur with an NIRF rank of 70. KL University Business School, Guntur, rated AAA+ by Careers360 is also a good option.
