which are the courses in medical line other than MBBS which a student can persue after 12th
Hi Aspirant!
As you may know, for MBBS you need to qualify National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). Now, MBBS is not the only course you can pursue through NEET. There are various other courses that NEET opens you up to. You can choose either of them to become a medical professional. These fields are growing expeditiously. All you need to have is PCB in 12th, with a minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and qualify NEET UG.
If not MBBS, then Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) can top your list. The scope of BDS in India is vast. There are around 315 dental institutions and more than 5000 dental laboratories in India. You can go either for government sector or for private sector after your BDS, but the entire Dental Industry is privatised. BDS is a 4 year long course and requires to complete 1 year internship.
Besides BDS, one can opt in any course under AYUSH (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) courses. The duration of AYUSH courses is 4.5 years, and 1 year internship.
Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery or Bachelor of Naturopathic and Yogic Sciences are some coursers that can be opted.
Bachelor of Veterinary Science Animal Husbandry (BVSc AH) is another option for NEET aspirants. BVSc allows you to diagnose and treat animals. The duration of course is 5.5 years.
Instead of these, there are also some courses related to the medical field that do not require NEET . Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) , Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) are some options. Also, Bsc in Radio Therapy, Radiography, Neuclear Medicine are some other options. Do remember that for BSc (Nursing) you need to qualify NEET UG.
