There are no new medical colleges constructed recently in 2020. But last year, five medical colleges were constructed and three of them were also approved by MCI(i.e Raniganj Govt. medical college, Diamond Harbour medical college, and Rampurhat Medical college)

The only thing is that the fourth and fifth colleges, Purulia Medical college and Gouri Devi Medical college  will most probably be approved by MCI this year only as it is almost ready to take in students. So, be positive and hope for the best as the rank inflation is really high this year.

The recent news has confirmed that the two new colleges are now MCI approved and 100 seats for MBBS in Purulia Medical College and 150 seats for MBBS in Gouri Devi Medical College are added into NEET 2020 counseling. So, the total no. of MBBS seats stands at 4000 in West Bengal this year.
