Which are the optional subjects we can select for upsc exam? what are all the optional subjects?

Eligibility criteria for upsc exam is to complete ug course like, bsc, bba, b. Com, from Recognised university / college.

You can chose option subject in the Mains examination, the candidate is to choose one Optional Subject from the UPSC list of 26 Optional Subjects. Each Optional Subject has two papers of 250 Marks each thereby making about 30% of Mains Exam

The optional subjects for UPSC mains in general, are up to 25, these include, law, anthropology, agriculture, animal husbandry, botany, chemistry, civil engineering, commerce & accountancy, economics, electrical engineering, geography, geology, history, management, mathematics, mechanical engineering, medical science, philosophy, physics, psychology, public administration, political science, sociology, statistics, and zoology, also you can opt for an optional subject in literature, in any of 22 languages recognized in India.
