Five subjects will be taken into account for calculation of percentile and normalization of qualifying examination marks for paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech.) and paper 2 (B. Arch./B. Planning) of JEE Main.
These subjects are:

Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject),

In case a candidate has appeared in six subjects in the qualifying examination, the subject (fifth or sixth) with better marks will be considered.

4 subjects that are mandatory to consider for calculating class 12th boards percentage are :PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY,MATHEMATICS and ENGLISH.Apart from all these you must have two optional subjects in your class 12th like CS,HINDI,ECO,PAINTING,PHE,etc then best of two subject would be considered as 5th subject for calculating percentage of class 12th board exams.

Note that for appearing in JEE Mains, you just need to pass your board exams. The subjects that will be taken into consideration are:

Mathematics

Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical vocational subject (Any one of them)

Any other subject
Candidates who have appeared for four subjects in their qualifying exam will not be allowed to appear in JEE Main exam.
They must have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science or Biology as one of the optional subjects in their qualifying exam.
