Article 343(1) of the Constitution designates Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of the Union. Additionally, Article 343(2) allows for the continued use of English in the Union's official work for a 15-year duration from the commencement of the Constitution, i.e., until January 25, 1965. Furthermore, Article 343(3) grants the Parliament the authority to enact laws enabling the ongoing use of English for official purposes even after January 25, 1965.
