Hi Aspirant,
The JNU entrance for MA is bit tough due to wide competition gap and there are certain important books which are important to crack the exam.I am giving a list of books for MA preparation in history:
- Revolution and Counter-Revolution in Ancient India
- JNU MA History Entrance Exam by R gupta
- Modern India By Sumit Sarkar
- History of the World Arjun Dev
These are some of the books with 2nd being the most important.Go through these books dedicatively and you will surely succeed.

Hey!
First clear your fundamentals from the ncert books, then you can try your hands on Modern India by Sumit Sarkar (most recommended book by JNU for exam). Then you can also try Bipin Chandra for different perspectives. also try to solve some previous years papers which you can get through this link:
