Hello

If your preparing at home  you can take online coaching and take mock tests as well.if you are in class 11 u want to study daily and consistently for 4.5 hrs.you want to continue this until your real JEE .IF your in 12 th and you didn't study anything in class11 you can prefer to study for more than 6 hrs.it is only learning time.coaching time in school is different from this.

Now we can turn to your question.your are asking which books are best to prefer for jee.

According to me u can prefer any FAMOUS competitive books like cengage,arihant,etc...

For physics prefer h.c verma for theory and 40 yrs previous years questions in arihant for more problems and go through kind of questions asked in jee.those books are good.

For chemistry pick anyone competitive book and give COMPLETE CONCENTRATION TO THAT.READ NCERT CORNER BY CORNER.IT IS ENOUGH!!

for math also it applies same.pick anyone competitive book and give complete guidance to that.

Hope it helps......

Good luck!!!

All the best!

It's good if you get 75 percent in 12 th as it will help you to secure good institute such as IIT's ,NIT's and government colleges.

But no worries if you get less than this as the minimum eligibility criteria for taking admission to engineering courses says that you must have at least 55 percent in 12 th and you can get admission into good private institute with this score in 12 th.

Also there is option of scpre improvent exam for 12 th.

Apart from the score of 12 th your JEE score plays major role in allocation of institute and in order to secure good score for JEE you can also join online crash course by Entrance 360 where you can get excellent guidance by experts with number of video lectures , mock tests and much more. Hi shiv Santosh,

Hope you are doing well. I am listing down some if the points to consider before choosing any books.

None of the books are strong in all the topics

Some of the books are still based on subjective question pattern

Some books are good in theory but not have enough practice questions. There are couple of books which have both theory and practice questions covered decently.

You should always have three kinds of book:

Reference Books:Not recommended for regular reading, only for topics when deeper understanding is required.

Theory Books:Regular reading books to understand the theory and be able to cover the syllabus on time.

Practice Books:Quality questions with large variety based on current JEE pattern

My Recommendations:

Just One Author Books:For Students who wants to follow just one author book to cover all their needs I would recommend following books

Maths:G Tewani Cengage Publications

Physics:DC Pandey (set of 5 books)

Chemistry:KS Verma Cengage Publications

Reference/Theory/Questions Separate Books:

Maths (Reference): None

Maths (Theory): NCERT

Maths (Questions): G Tewani Books and Comprehensive Mathematics By Tata McGraw Hill

Physics (Reference): Resnick, Halliday and Walker

Physics (Theory): HC Verma Volume-1 and Volume-2

Physics (Questions): DC Pandey (all 5 books) and BM Sharma Cengage Publication

Chemistry (Reference):

Physical: None

Inorganic: JD Lee

Organic: LG Wade

Chemistry (Theory): NCERT

Chemistry (Questions):

Physical: KS Verma

Inorganic: OP Tondon, KS Verma

Organic: KS Verma, RK Gupta

Must Have Complementary Books:

14 years Solved papers (20032016) or a newer version from Arihant Publications

38 years topicwise chapterwise solved papers (Maths: Amit M Agarwal, Physics: DC Pandey, Chemistry: Ranjeet Shahi)

There are a lot of others good books also but above are the ones that you should finish first and revisit again and again to strengthen all the topics.

Other Good Books are:

Maths (easier side): RD Sharma, SK Goyal

Maths (tougher side): A Das, ML Khanna, Amit Agarwal

Physics (easier side): MCQs By D Mukherji

Physics (tougher side): IE Irodov, P Gnadig

Chemistry: Numerical Chemistry-P Bahadur, RC Mukerjee , Peter Sykes Organic Chemistry

Hope I answered your query in detail. If you have any further queries you can comment over here. Please upvote if you liked my answer. All the best for your future endeavors.
