Hi Vahida,

Thanks for asking, I myself got AIR-95 in 2015 AILET by referring these books. The early you start the more practice you can do and the more practice you do the more you score and better college you get.

Start as early as you can.Daily practice 1 hour and take full-length test on weekends.

The Best book for Clat 2019 is

Universal's Guide to CLAT & LL.B. Entrance Examination

In this book past years’ question papers of LL. B. Entrance Examinations and CLAT have been carefully researched and analyzed, whereas the multiple choice questions have been accordingly framed keeping in view the latest entrance examination trends.

Let me give you a detailed book list for CLAT 2019. Here it is:

I will write the books I used. Note that I mostly relied on books and self-study and so, I literally had a library of books with me. You are definitely not expected to purchase them all.

Quantitative Aptitude (Mathematics):

This section aims to check candidate’s knowledge of elementary mathematics, i.e., maths taught up to 10th Class/Standard. Quantitative Aptitude or Numerical ability is an important part of CLAT exam as it weight age is 20 marks out of total 200 marks.

You can score good marks in less time with proper practice and tricks. We should recommend you to buy Class Notes Of Math , which are available in both for English and Hindi medium candidates.

Best Books For Numerical ability-

We recommend you to chose any single below mentioned books + learn tricks from Class Notes Of Maths (Link provided above).

  • Quantitative Aptitude by R S Aggarwal (This is the best book for Quantitative aptitude practice purpose. You can also check review .)
  • Arihant’s Fast Track Objective Arithmetic ( Check Review for Fast Track book. Both Aggarwal and Arihant books are okay for the need to practice. You can choose one between them.)
  • Magical Book On Quicker Maths (Helpful to learn fundamentals and short tricks)
  • Class Notes by Rakesh Yadav (This is one of the best-handwritten notes for Quantitative aptitude which you can download E-Book or also buy online .)

General English: The English section aims to test the candidate's proficiency in English based on comprehension passages, grammar and word power.

In the comprehension section, candidates will be assessed on their understanding of the passage and its main theme, sense of words used in sentence or passage, etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling the blanks in sentences with suitable words, etc.

There are two good exam-oriented English books which adequately cover different types of questions. Choose anyone, and you are ready to go —

  • Objective General English by S P Bakshi (Arihant)
  • Quick Learning Objective General English by RS Aggarwal
  • High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin (An excellent book for Grammar revision. If you are not good at grammar this book will help you.)
  • Word Power Made Easy by Normen Lewis (A magical book to learn new vocabulary words.)

Logical Reasoning: You can easily score in this section like mathematics if you do the proper practice of each type questions. If you are beginner then you can start with Full Notes Of Reasoning , which you download by paying a decent amount.

  • Buy Class Notes Of Reasoning
  • Verbal and Nonverbal Reasoning by R S Aggarwal ( the highest selling book. It is a good choice if you don’t need a lot of explanations and are mainly looking for practice questions.)
  • Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey (A good book if your fundamentals are not clear)

General Awareness and Current Affairs: There is no limit of the syllabus in this section but most of the question are asked based on current affairs and static GK.

  • Manorama Yearbook 2018 (The best book to prepare for GK section in competitive exams)
  • General Knowledge 2018 by Arihant (An option of Manorama book)

Legal Aptitude:

This Legal Aptitude section aims to test the candidate’s interest towards the study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability in real cases.

Questions may include legal propositions (which will be described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be “true” in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly.

  • Legal Aptitude for the CLAT and other Law Entrance Examinations
