Hello Srinivasarao,
Selecting branch depends upon various factors and employment is one of the factors. In India getting a job is more dependent on college rather than your branch if you are aiming for the non-core sector mostly coding, debugging, data analysis. IT companies employ you irrespective of your branch you just have knowledge of coding.
Mostly in NITS and IITS most of the jobs are from the non-core sector. Core jobs are an option only if you are in branches like mechanical, civil, electrical there are few branches whose core have too less employment for them non-core is the only option.
Selecting branch depends upon your interest as you have to work in this field for the rest of your life. You cannot select for a branch which just has more employment but you don't have any interest in that field.
In the current situation, the Indian market is blooming with IT companies, software companies, data analytics, so in short Computer science is the most employable branch in this current time. In industry, there is a shift from labor to automation this shift is the most noticeable and substantial shift even automobile, electric companies need software engineers to maintain their computer systems, IT section. this exponential growth is affecting the growths of more core branches like civil, mechanical, electrical. But in most of the college student from these branches learn to code and get jobs in the software sector. So once you get admission in college and if you are the non-core person then branch not matter much.
But Srinivasroa it would be my request that you choose the branch of your interest.
Branch is the discipline for which you will work for the rest of the life. You can get into coding from any branch you want but if you don't have any idea about coding then branch matters a lot.
for example, A like cars and want to work for an automobile company then it is obvious he will get interested in mechanical branch and will excel in his discipline but A take admission in computer science because it was easy to get a job in the computer field he will get fade up of his branch very soon and will end into not something great.
Thank you,
