which branch has more scope chemical or metallurgy and material science.
Hello,
Chemical Engineering is a very broad field and the branch of study has applications in diverse sectors. Some of them are textile, plastics, food, petroleum and pharmaceuticals. With many of these manufacturing and service sectors hiring chemical engineers, there is a huge scope for the degree in terms of recruitment and chemical engineering is becoming one of the brightest career options for graduates for its job opportunities within India and around the world.
Metallurgical engineers also have opportunities in India and abroad. They can get hired by public sector companies like DRDO, ISRO and Indian Railway. Professionals in this career can also opt for teaching jobs in many universities and colleges. The common jobs in this filed include safety engineering, quality planning engineer, welding engineer etc..
The major criteria to choose between these branches is your interest and expertise. Do not look at the scope of a field for choosing it, opportunities change over time and if you are not really interested in a course, no matter how good it is, you may never be able to excel in it. So, choose the right decision with your interest. But, to say as of now, chemical engineering has a better scope than metallurgy and material engineering in the present scenario. In following years, this may or may not change.
Hope this was helpful
