Hello,

There is no comparison between the two because both are completely different branches.
In chemical engineering you will study about chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and economics to efficiently use, produce, design, transport and transform energy and materials.
On the other hand, civil engineering deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, railways and other infrastructure.
If you will take a branch of your interest then trust me you will enjoy your 4 years of engineering degree and if you will take a branch without will then you might possibly end up in lot of regrets. If you will choose a branch of your choice then everything will be easy.

I hope this helps.

Dear student,

Both branches are very reputed and very good engineering branches. And always take your branch of your choice, that means, in which field you are interested in.
But still as you have asked the query then let's take a look on both branches.

Civil engineering is one of the most oldest and reputed field of engineering that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the environment, including works such as construction of roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, structure of buildings, railways, etc.
If yor are a civil engineering then majorly you gave to design transportation projects, build, supervise, operate, construct and maintain infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges.
There is a common misconception that a civil engineer is only responsible for making buildings and Bridges. A civil engineer do a lot more than designing buildings and bridges.
You can work in the aerospace industry, design jetliners and space stations.
You can also get a job in the automobile industry where you have to calculate the load-carrying capacity of a chassis and improving the crash resistance of bumpers and doors.
Also you can work in ship building industry, power industry, and multiple other industries requiring constructed facilities.

Now on the other hand chemical engineering is one of the emerging branches in India with a very high demand than civil engineering. Chemical engineering is a branch of engineering that produces finished products by converting varous raw materials according to rules of chemistry by using engineering principles of unit operations.
This is an engineering field where you carry out a variety of tasks such as translating process developed in the laboratories into practical application for the commercial production of products and then work to maintain and improve these process.
Chemical engineers are called versatile engineer , because apart from chemical sectors you can get good job opportunities in the electrical, mechanical, electronics. You will have a great scope of job in India as well as in foreign countries with a very good and handsome pay.

So if you are confused between these two branches then according to me you must go with - chemical engineering.
