Hello student both are two different things marine engineering is totally different as if you do marine engineering you have to work on a ship for months and that's a very hectic job so ask yourself what you want to do. Marine engineers focus on the mechanical systems that are used on a ship. Their job is to keep ships running smoothly, which means that they may supervise the maintenance and repairs on a ship's engines, navigation equipment and other mechanical systems.Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering, physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines.
