which branch is good for data scientist?
Read the information below -
Data science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from noisy, structured and unstructured data, and apply knowledge and actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains.
Computer science is the best branch you should go for data scientist career. On other hand, you can go with Information Technology.
For being a data scientist, you have to do master's degree and preferebly a doctorate degree.
It's also that, people with degrees in physics, math, statistics and engineering also prefer studying data science courses.
Students of cs field have subjects of ml, python, and other from college itself. They have good practice over coding and become professionals with time.
You can make such projects from college period that will help you get a data scientist role.
Hi
The best thing about data science is that it is everywhere. You'll find it in every branch be it Computer Science or Geography. Actually Data Science is a way to predict answers that will help us stop something dangerous from happening like Wildfire or to invest in something that'll help a company a lot in the future. So, you can take any branch of engineering you like and become a Data Scientist.
But as easy as it sounds, all branches of engineering doesn't teach you Data Science in college, so you need to learn Data Science by yourself. Try giving yourself 10 hrs a week in learning it and you'll become very good at it within 4–5 months.
Now, the question which might arise in you is who'll teach you Data Science. The answer is pretty simple. Learn it online. There are a lot of online courses on the internet like edX, Coursera, Udemy, Data Camp, etc. In these, edX provides courses for free. So, you can do it from there. These courses are the best place to learn Data Science.
But I'll suggest you to take Computer Science if you're ok with it. Firstly, they'll teach you most of the things you need to learn to become a Data Scientist. So, you won't have to learn it some place else. Secondly, you'll find many internships on the internet which are available only for Computer Science branch and Electronics and Communications branch. So if you belong to any other branch, you'll miss those.
Hope this helps you to decide which branch you should take.
