Hello, there are four pigments of Chlorophyll- A,B,C and D. All these molecules are non polar compounds and hence they do not dissolve in polar compounds like water. Thus these hydrophobic pigments are readily soluble in organic solvents. Since chlorophyll A is more abundant in the plants it is soluble in higher amounts relatively.
