All AFMS institutions are famous for their superior medical care and effective treatment provided to defence personnels.

Compared to AFMC, Pune, all other AFMS institutions have fewer postgraduate seats. Also, AFMC carries the prime responsibility to train medical graduates for all the three wings of armed services.

But if you really wish to compare them, then,

• If we look at AFMS institutions in terms of seats, then Army Hospital, Delhi Cantt. Trumps since it has 47 seats, which is second highest in number, after 118 seats of AFMC.

• If we look at it in terms of recent developments, then hospital of INHS Aswini, Mumbai, has emerged as best, with continuous modernization in infrastructure and super speciality centres. In 1960s itself, its bed strength increased from 300 to 600, with 825 beds in 1970s and 825+ in todays date.

• One other army hospital named Command Hospital Bengaluru, was awarded Six Sigma Healthcare Excellence Award, which is a matter of reputation.

It would be a matter of proud to study in any of the AFMS institutions. However, strictly for the sake of comparison, you may want to target INHS Aswini and Army Hospital, Delhi Cant t ., after AMFC, Pune.
