Hello,
It is not necessary that you studies biology in your +2 then you will go for medical stream. After completion of +2 there are lots of streams you can go for as per your interest.
In your question you haven't mentioned what stream you are interested in. It is not necessary to take BSc. There are other Bachelor's degree programs which you can also pursue.
Let me give an example:- If you want to do research work in technology then you can choose engineering. For that you can give jee mains or any state board engineering entrance exam and get an admission then there you will first learn what is there in technology then you will do specialization in your master's degree in your interested domain then you will PHD which is your research work. Students even do research work in the last year of Btech/BE and masters degree also then they implement them in PHD and get doctorate.
It is a long process and it is same in any stream you choose related to science. Research is only possible to the streams which are related to science stream in one or other way.
Other streams works on the basis of facts and it is already done. they just implement them in different situations and solve it and find the optimized solution of it and they develop that solution years after years but there is nothing new in it. It is kind of fixed. Just like solving a maths problem. It has only one way to solve it then people use creative minds to implement tricks in it to get a shortcut.
Hope it helps!
