In my opinion, AKGEC is better than KIET in terms of placement, academics, faculties and also culturewise but one thing for which you can consider KIET to be a better option is the attendance norm. AKGEC is very strict regarding their attendance criteria, they will never let you sit in your internal as well as external exams if you do not satisfy the required attendance (which is approximately 65%). And note it, they won't at all, no matter what. But this is not the same with other colleges.

So basically, if you don't have any problem with the attendance rule at AKGEC then surely you can go for AKGEC for CSE as the placements of CSE/IT branch at AKGEC are quite good which I think should be the most important distinguishing criteria between two colleges because ultimately when you pass out it will be the only thing that will matter to you.
