The COEP (college of engineering pune) is one of the India's oldest engineering college established in year of 1854 by British government, in the early 1950s it is known as "Poona model" . So if you want to go for Old as well as good engineering college then COEP is one of the best college in India.

While NIT goa is not as old as COEP and established in the year of 2010 but it is also an government aided autonoums college functioning under MHRD. For M.tech program it offers only 20 seats in each department and students admits through valid gate score.

In conclusion, The NIT Goa is better than COEP for M.tech .

Firstly, COEP is not as famous as NIT's. Most people prefer NIT's but comparitively COEP is also a better option. Actually this is a very good college but it is famous around Maharashtra and some other nearby states. The only drawback is that it is not famous all over India. So basically NIT's can be compared wirh COEP. It is much better than some NIT's. COEP is a very old college than any other NIT's and hence it's reputation is also high .
