Hey kamakshi,

Everything depends on what you actually want to do in engineering.Just like you do not compare Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni on basis of batting. They cannot be compared. They bat at different positions and both have achieved the highest level for the position they bat.

Similarly, UPES is an energy specific domain college while VIT is more of a conventional B.Tech college. The comparison of both the colleges also depends upon the branch you are going to opt for. Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and other conventional branches are better at VIT. UPES is better for branches like Petroleum Engineering, Mining, Geoscience, Geoinformatics, Fire and Safety and other industrial specific branches.

Wherever you join maintain good academics, build a good CV, focus on communication and presentation skills for good placements.

So wherever you are if you maintain a good score with a balnce of extra curricular activities, you are good to go.

All the best. Hope the answer helps.
