You should go for Thapar institute.

Total seats

number of seats in each branch. in 2015 no. of seats of cs in vit is 730 in vellore campus and around 300 in chennai campus.this is the total no of seats availible in thapar.same amount of seats in ece,mech around 700

reputation - thapar is opened in 1956, it carries trust of 59 years which is a plus point.

Placements - those who says in vit people get 20 lac package..so let me tell you only 10 to 20 (NOT EXACT DATA..JUST ASSUMPTION NO SUCH DATA IS AVAILIBLE ON ITS SITE)people are able to secure this amt of package out of around 1000 cs undergraduates...rest of branches rest in pease. On the other hand out of 100 students in cs 23(exact) got 23 lac package..18lac by microsoft,deshaw etc...other branches good are ece, mech,electrical.

Management quota- VIT definitely has management quota...on other hand no such thing in thapar.

Rank opener in thapar is beyond 230 marks in (jee mains) which boastly elaborates its quality.

Thapar reveals placement with packages but VIT tells about the placement stats as almost everyone goes to TCS/INFY with a low package.

Vit is just a massive college providing lucrative thoughts to students by just advertising it's college at every place.

You won't see advertisements Of BITS,IIIT-H & Thapar in these books despite all these are pvt. institutions
