which college to choose after 60 to 65 in mech gate 2020 for m tech?
First of all congratulations on getting these marks.
Various options available about which people are not aware, this one listed below:
- For GARE score 500+ one can apply in IIT Kanpur winter season M.Tech, only in IIT Kanpur there is an inductance for M.Tech in winters shortlisting is GATE score and then followed by written and interview. Generally cutoff is low in winters.
- For GATE score 400-500 one can apply for the direct PhD program in IITs, But for this, your CPI must be good somewhere around 7.5 and above. This too is a good option for people who are inclined towards research.
- For Gate score 500600 you can apply for M.S program of 2.5-3Yrs duration in Old IITs like Madras, Kanpur, Bombay (Both in summer & winters). Surely you will get a call for written & interview in which you have to perform well, written is somewhat similar to GATE or easier than that. And Placements are really good for M.S.
- NITs are also an option through CCMT.
- You can also try for new IITs, they conduct their separate test and interview session.
GREETINGS ROHAN,
First of all congratulations for your score for GATE EXAM. coming to your question, here are some possible tips for you :
- One can try new IIT's ( palakkad, mandi , tirupati etc. )
- NITs are also an option (through CCMT).
- Never say no to any courses from old IITs. Material science in IIT Bombay or Madras is way better than design in NIT Trichy or Warangal. For Mechanical students.
- Make sure to attend all the spot rounds in older IITs. There are higher chances of you getting admitted through these rounds.
- Just select any branch which is available in because there is another round after NSR & that is internal sliding, inside college, Students shifted to vacant seats of top braches, so you will be able to get good branch like manufacturing, CIM, addtive, thermal power.
HOPE THIS HELPS !
