Dear Aspirant,

With 142 marks you will clear the JEE Main with an average rank. The rank wouldn't get you good NIT's or IIT's or good branch.

You might get some lower branches in mid level or lower NITs. With this score I would suggest you to not think much about the college options available yet.

Work hard and try to do well in the upcoming exams that you must have filled. Work hard for JEE Advanced too if you aim to crack it or focus on the other exams depending on how you have prepared so far. But don't give up now!

Also try the entrance examination of other colleges.

And look up other private colleges that use JEE Main score for admissions.

If you have your basics strong and can revise and practice well for JEE you will be able to crack JEE Advanced.

Also, be patient, let the ranks be out to get a better clarity.
