which colleges are good for geology? Is there any scope for it in India?

Some of the top institutes in B.sc. geology are.
1. St.axavier's college, Kolkata
2. Jadavpur university
3. Presidency university
4. M.G. Science institute, Gujarat
5. Fergusson college, Maharashtra
Except Jadavpur university, all other colleges in the list provide masters in geology as well.
Now, to be honest, there is indeed a good scope in India in geology field in government, industry and education centre. UPSC recruits in central government agencies such as geological survey of India and central ground water board. Meanwhile you can also avail jobs in para-military forces as they are in constant need of geologists. Apart from that, you can do a specialisation relating to paleontology, geophysics, mining, petrology etc. in order to get jobs as geographers, oceanographers, geologist, meteorologist, seismologist, completions technologist etc.
