Presidency college is a research college of Kolkata. It also offers a 3 year Bachelor's degree in physics. Total fees of this course is 13k. The highest package offered has been 7 lakhs and many students have cleared IIT JAM as well.

according to me you should go for Jadavpur University as it is more modern in terms of infrastructure,lab equipments and education.
IIT JAM is a pg level exam to get entrance into the top institutes of India like IITs,IISERs etc. The preparation of this exam is mainly done by students by self study or by joining coaching institutes. College professors can clear your doubts but they won't pay much attention to your preparation. So,go for a college where you feel the faculty will be good and your basic concepts will be cleared.
