Hi,

Medical and Engineering are two really vast fields and saying that one is better than the others makes no sense.
if one of these two was better the other one wouldn’t have existed. However they differ a lot from each other.
i wont support one of them rather would give you an overview.

MEDICAL :-

You have a lot of options when you study these subjects.
You can get a BSc. (Bachelor of Science) degree or maybe, You can study Ayurvedic medicines (BAMS), Dental sciences (BDS), Pahrmacy (Bpharm) and a lot of other options.

Talking about MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery). Yes it is a great line and also is the most common field associated with these subjects.
Once done with it you get to write a doctor with your name (by which i mean Respect). Its a 5 year course.

Initially it requires an entrance test (NEET currently or AIPMT and state PMTs as was in past). On the basis of your rank you get a college for MBBS. Here you have a drawback as compared to engineering as the number of students appearing for this entrance is far greater than the number of Seats for MBBS in government colleges so if by chance lets say you end up ruining the test, you would be left with an option to either change the outline of your course (i.e. get a Bsc. or BDS) or get a MBBS degree from a private college and according to the current situation getting MBBS from a private reputed college costs you in crores. (approx 50laks atleast)

lets say you managed to get a degree in MBBS then you will have to study further to get a MS or MD and if interested further for DM which makes it a line that has a longer study duration and you settle down late in life. And if done from private colleges the cost of each degree keeps on adding which is very difficult to cope up with.

A positive over engineering is that you can anytime start your own Hospital (If you still have some money left to invest in it and you can cope with the strong rules and regulations of the MCI ) which is a great source of income.

You can definitely end up as a professor or join a government hospital where you will find some peace in life.

Engineering :-
Here again you have a lot of options like Bsc., BArch. etc.

Talking of Btech. you get to live a wonderful college life.

Even if you end up ruining your entrance test you have a lot of not so costly private colleges to atleast get a degree and plan something for the future than to change your carrier line.

You have wide variety of options and you can float between them easily without worrying much. e.g. Btech + MBA (you end up in financing sector)

You might start earning earlier (after Btech) or go on with Phd or Ms or MBA.

One of the drawbacks include the fact that since the number of persons getting Btech is greater than ones getting MBBS unemployment is present. Not everyone lands up with a package dealing with crores. You really have to be capable enough to get a dream Package.

One of the major factors is interest. i would suggest you to explore yourself and find the subject in which your interest lies. Go with the line that makes you feel good.
Legends are there from both the fields.
