Hello Dilna!
As you have just completed 12th only, you have to complete certain specific undergraduate programs. You cannot find a direct Bachelor's degree in Genomic Medicine as it is a particular aspect suitable for a doctorate degree. So, for pursuing Genomic medicine, you have to go for a Ph.D in Medical genomics.
As you are aspiring to study abroad, you have to hold these bachelor's degrees if you are interested in the clinical stream of Medical genomics:-
- A PharmD or equivalent degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology
- A PDEP accredited B.Sc. in Food & Nutrition. If B.Sc. program was not fully integrated with an internship, applicants must also have completed their dietitians internship / Master's practicum
- Registration with a recognized College of Nurses, and completion of a College approved Nurse Practitioner graduate program
- At least 1 year of an undergraduate medical degree from an accredited university
If you are interested in the laboratory stream for Medical genomics, An appropriate Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with high academic standing from a recognized university, with a B+ average or better over the last two years of study, will be suitable. The undergraduate degree should display competence in genetics, molecular biology, or related fields.
For studying abroad, you need to give the SAT exam and then english proficiency exams like TOEFL and IELTS .
Your destination should be Canada for medical genomics. Best universities you will find are:-
- University of Toronto
- University of British Columbia
- University of Montreal
- University of Ottawa.
