Hello Bar
Looking at the syllabus of upsc, bachelors degree in ARTS i.e. BA with history, political science, geography, anthropology, etc must be taken…because these subject together constitute the major portion of the syllabus…
Moreover BA course is easier compare to other courses as a result u will get more time to prepare for the other subjects …and also this course is of 3 years only
Hello Aspirant!
If you are determined to go for IAS profile job and want to pursue a graduation degree that can help you achieving your target- then I would suggest you to go for a BA degree.
Reason to opt for BA while you prepare for IAS-
•Similar Subjects- If choosen wisely, many subjects in BA overlap with the syllabus for IAS. Subjects like- Public Administration, Political Science, Sociology, etc will help you prepare for GS and Optional subject.
Note- Scope of getting a job after BA is almost nil. If you are only thinking to clear the government exam, then only go for BA as it will only help you to improve GS portion. There is nil chances of having any career if you go for BA degree as only way of having a job.
All the best!!
If you have any query unanswered, feel free to clear them.
UPSC CSE preparation strategy along with best books for prelims as well as mains exam for sure success.
