Which engineering branch has large scope after five years?
Hi vivek ,
Each and every branch in engineering have it's own importance in different field. So we can't generalise a particular stream on the basis of scope.
Whichever branch u choose the importance will be given for your technical knowledge. So it's better to do some kind of specializations in certain topics like Machine learning, IoT , Robotics,Coding... etc. along with your btech degree
Hello,
All ever green fields will always be in demand like Mechanical, EC, Civil, IT, etc. But all of them will change rapidly.
And as far as future is concerned, below fields have more opportunities. They will grow like Automobile and IT has grown in past century.
As per my opinion, fields of future are Robotics, Biotech, Water engineering, Aerospace, Environment, Waste management, etc.
I’ve seen something with engineering students and engineering branches. If an engineering student likes his/her branch, and works hard at it, he/she starts seeing immense scope in it.
Take the newly announced bullet train project (in India) for example. At the outset, the project will require planning, acquisitions, procurement and then the actual execution of the construction of tracks, stations, etc, all of which will be done by civil engineers. Supreme signalling and communication systems will be required for smooth functioning of the line, which will have to be executed by Electronics and Communication Engineers. Bullet trains, like all other new-age trains run on electric power, and electrical engineers will be in charge of setting up power systems. At some point, India will start manufacturing the trains on its own, which will bring mechanical, metallurgical, chemical, aerospace and instrumentation engineers into play. And all of this - from start to finish - will require the power of software for seamless execution and reduction of cost.
At the end of the day, it's your interest for a particular branch that will decide the scope for yourself in future.
